April 17, 2020

Dear Triumph Public High Schools Family:

Today, April 17, Governor Greg Abbott announced through Executive Order that all Texas schools will remain closed for the remainder of this school year.  While difficult, decisions to close schools and stay at home, do support the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community.

At Triumph PHS we are honored to serve your children and will continue to do so through remote learning and student supports until the last day of instruction scheduled in your respective school calendars.

At TPHS we built systems and structures to deliver remote instruction, and while we recognize this system cannot replace face-to-face classroom instruction with teachers, we believe it allows us to successfully complete the year while we focus on plans to re-open schools in August and re-strategize how to make up for any lost learning.  In the meantime, do not hesitate to reach out to your campus principals for any needs that we can help address whether they are related to academics, counseling, and/or technology based.

Additionally, school staff are considering new ways to engage with students and families for end-of-year virtual graduation ceremonies.  We would like you to know that TPHS is committed to ensure that these ceremonies honor and celebrate our graduates accordingly.  We will keep you updated, as there is more information to share.

This has been an incredibly challenging time for our entire school system. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have dealt with this unprecedented situation. We look forward to the day that we are able to welcome our students and staff back into our buildings.

Respectfully Yours,

Frances Berrones-Johnson

Superintendent/CEO
